Be Inc CEO Lost In "Paris"
Paris, Las Vegas

BE DOPE NEWS (BDN) Welcome again to our exclusive live Comdex coverage. Be officials scrambled today after Be, Inc. CEO Jean-Louis Gassée failed to show up at the Be booth this morning. Piecing together various eyewitness accounts, Be officials and police concluded Gassée was lost somewhere in the vast "Paris, Las Vegas" resort.

"Well, we had a big party last night, with lots of wine," said Be CTO Steve Sakoman. "I saw Gassée just before he left - he said he was going to take a brisk walk back to the hotel. That's the last we heard from him."

According to eyewitness reports assembled later by police, Gassée was seen staring slack-jawed at the life-sized replica of the Eiffel Tower that is the centerpiece of Bally's "Paris, Las Vegas" resort. After looking completely confused for over a half hour, Gassée was then seen entering the resort.

The Paris, Las Vegas website boasts "Parisian street scenes surround the casino, while Le Boulevard beckons shoppers with European-style boutiques filled with the world's best brand names. From the Arc de Triomphe to the Louvre to the elegant decor and world-class cuisine, no stone is left unturned, no detail spared."

This is exactly what Sakoman fears.

"Between the wine, jetlag and being exhausted from Comdex activities it's possible Gassée slipped into Paris, Las Vegas thinking somehow he had arrived in the real Paris," he explained. "Right now he is somewhere in there, probably relaxing in a café."

Be officials are confident they will find Gassée in time to resume office business as usual next week.
